德拉沃尔美术馆是具有历史意义的地标性现代主义建筑。它是现代运动的标志，于1935年完成。不仅使用了超前的技术，而且还进行了混合用途开发，为英格兰南部中等规模的沿海小镇贝克斯希尔（Bexhill）提供了文化和社会互动的中心海岸。The De La Warr Pavilion is a landmark modernist building of historic importance. It is an icon of the modern movement, completed in 1935 well ahead of its time both in its use of technology but also a mixed use development which acts as a centre of culture and social interaction for the modest sized coastal town of Bexhill on England’s south coast.

由埃瑞许·孟德尔松和塞吉·希玛耶夫设计的这座建筑在国际竞赛中获胜后，成为这个沉寂的英国小镇上令人惊讶和意想不到的标志性建筑。Designed by Erich Mendelsohn and Serge Chermayeff after winning an international competition, this building succeeds as a surprising and unexpected iconic landmark in this sleepy English town.
它的设计表达了人们的运动和聚会，并通过宽敞的阳光露台、旋转楼梯和悬臂阳台来庆祝海边的阳光和光线。Its design expresses the movement and meeting of people and celebrates the sunshine and light of its seaside setting with its generous sun terraces and sweeping staircase and cantilevered balcony.
